Product Introduction
The Cohiba Behike BHK 52 is a Petit Robusto from Cuba. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to smoke and pairs well with Cuba Libre. It was bought in June 2013 with a boxcode of BTO OCT 12, priced at 27 EUR each.
Appearance
The BHK 52 has a triple pigtail cap and a light brown wrapper color. It feels a bit dry in hand with a texture like paper bags. There are no visible veins. The foot has a sweet tobacco aroma with hints of hay and cedar.
Construction
The first draw was a little snug, but after the first third, it opened up to a perfect draw. It was slightly resistant and produced a lot of cool thick smoke. The ash was light grey, lasting over an inch at a time and falling off in big even chunks. The burn was almost perfect, a bit wonky at the second third.
Flavor
- One third: The thick smoke was flavored with grass and hay, leaving a slight espresso and leather taste on the back of the throat.
- Two thirds: The flavors of grass and hay continued.
- Three thirds: The hay and grass were almost gone, replaced by cocoa flavors with burnt espresso, and there were some ammonia and bitterness at the end.
Value
It's an expensive cigar. Buying a box and aging it for 5 to 8 years could be rewarding as aging helps the flavors deepen and evolve.
