Cohiba Medio Siglo Cigar Review

, By: John Smith
  • Brand Name: Cohiba Medio Siglo
  • Length: 4 inches
  • Ring Gauge: 52
  • Score: ★★★★1/2

Product Introduction

Created as an additional line in Linea 1492 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Cohiba, Medio Siglo, meaning 'half century', pays tribute to Siglo I and VI. It's 4 inches long like Siglo I and has a 52 ring gauge like Siglo VI.

Appearance

The latest Cohiba bands are pretty and contrast well with the cigar. The wrapper has a dark mustard color.

Construction

Few cracks appear during smoking. Smoke production is good. The draw is slightly tight but causes no problems. It burns well and rarely needs relighting.

Flavour

  • One third: Cold draw has ammonia and blueberries. After lighting, it offers sweet chocolate, leather, and dark cocoa flavors.
  • Two thirds: Flavors turn floral and grassy, with a long, cocoa - sweet finish like brownie. The aroma is of sweet oranges.
  • Three thirds: Flavors remain complex, with pure tobacco, vanilla, and cedar. Before the end, there's harshness that turns into coffee, along with dry citrus and crackers.

Value

The UK price of £40 is similar to Cohiba Robusto. If you want a different vitola, it's a good option.
