El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme Cigar Review

, By: John Smith
  • Brand: El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme
  • Length: 127 mm / 5.0 inches
  • Ring Gauge: 48
  • Score: 3/5

Appearance

The appearance rating is 4.5/5. The wrapper was flawless, no water staining, and the cap was beautifully applied. The foot was smooth, oily, and almost circular. It had a muted aroma, and the pre - light draw was firm with leather and cedar notes.

Construction

Construction is rated 3/5. The draw was extremely tight on all 3 samples. The tanned/grey ash held for about an inch and a half. The burn was mostly flawless, though the last sample needed to be relit twice.

Flavor

Flavor gets a 2.5/5 rating. It's a mild cigar.

  • One third: Hints of honey - roasted nuts and subtle white pepper.
  • Two thirds: Sweeter hints like caramel, cocoa, and little salt, with more honey - sweetened coffee, earthiness, pepper, and spice.
  • Three thirds: The finish was short, and it required frequent puffs to taste the flavor.

Value

Value is rated 2/5. It costs around $10, but considering its size and mildness, it's hard to justify the price.

Overall, the reviewer was disappointed with the cigar. Despite its good appearance and burn, the tight draw and lack of flavor made it a less - than - satisfying smoke.
