Appearance and Construction
This cigar looks beautiful, soft to the touch, with a few tiny green spots. After 17 years in a dressed box, it's box - pressed. The first third was a bit tight, but it opened up halfway. The smoke density was initially low, but it burnt evenly.
Flavor Profile
- One third: Flavors of brioche, sweet bread, and marzipan are present. It's light, with low acidity and almost no ammonia. A creamy texture builds up slowly, and there's no after - taste bitterness.
- Two thirds: The draw gradually opens up. The flavor profile remains similar but more complex. There are floral notes, a dominant vanilla flavor, and solid white ash.
- Three thirds: The draw is perfect, and the smoke intensity increases. There's an awesome sweetness and a “vegetal / grassy” dry feeling. The last centimeter has a hint of mint.
Aged El Rey Del Mundo cigars are a great choice. This Lonsdale from 2000, despite some initial tightness, offers a complex and enjoyable smoking experience.
