Product Introduction
Origin and Production
Originating from Cuba, this cigar was released in 2013. It's hand - made. The wrapper, filler, and binder leaves come from Vuelta Abajo plantations in Cuba and are aged at least 2 years.
Appearance
The cigar has a chocolate wrapper, a bit darker as common with EL releases. It has an oily sheen, visible veining, tight seams, and a nice chocolaty aroma. It has a Grand Epicure band and a secondary Edición Limitada gold band.
Construction
Pre - light inspection shows a firm cigar with proper sponginess, no lumps or soft spots. It cut easily, burned well to the nub, and had a perfect draw. It's recommended to let it stabilize in the humidor for 14 - 20 days.
Flavor
- One third: It starts with chocolaty sweetness, coffee bean notes, a creamy texture, mild pepper at the back of the palate, and a honey - like film on the tongue.
- Two thirds: It offers hints of citrus, dried fruits, vanilla bean, and mild black pepper that hits different parts of the palate.
- Three thirds: It has less sweetness, more earthiness and leather, along with some honey, chocolate, and dark roasted coffee bean.
Value
It's a premium cigar, not for daily smoking. Value depends on personal pleasure, and the reviewer got pleasure from the purchase.
Box code: ALT JUN13. Price is about $20 each. It was one of the first 2013 limited editions.
