Product Introduction

The Juan Lopez Petit Corona is a discontinued Cuban cigar, sold in a box of 25. It has a medium - full flavor. The price is about $180 for a box of 25.

Appearance

The cigar had some spines along its length. Roughly a third or more of the sticks expanded in the box, taking on an almost hexagonal shape. The wrapper and binder had issues maintaining integrity.

Construction

Out of 25 cigars, 15 had construction problems, and 6 were unusable. Some were rolled too tight to hold a light or draw easily. Some sticks needed both ends clipped to get smoke.

Flavor

On the initial light, it had a honey - sweet nutty note like freshly crushed pecan shells. But on the exhale, there was an unbearable pepper note. Although there were milder notes at the start, the pepper was overpowering.

Value

Costing over $8 each, it's suitable only for those who like strong, peppery notes. Beginners may be turned off. The author recommends the Juan Lopez Don Juan Benelux Limited Edition instead.
