, By: John Smith
  • Brand Name: Juan López Selección No.3 Edición Regional Benelux
  • Length: 110mm (4⅜″)
  • Ring: 52
  • Score: 2/5

General Information

The cigar is from Cuba, in Petit Edmundo format. It was released in 2010 for the Benelux region and is hand - made. Each cigar costs 9 EUR.

Appearance

The milk - chocolate wrapper is extremely oily. The leaf has veins and several water spots. The petit edmundo is stocky and feels good in hand, with a 4/5 rating.

Construction

The draw is fine, but it produces low amounts of smoke. The ash was sturdy and held for over 1.5 inches, rated 3.5/5.

Flavor

  • Unlit, the head smells sour and the foot smells of spice and tobacco.
  • Pre - draw has faint spice and a bit of sweetness. After lighting, it starts papery, then flavors intensify with spice and dry wood.
  • In the second third, dry woody flavor is prominent with significant sourness. The bouquet becomes sharp and aggressive, rated 2/5.

Value

It's rated 1/5. For the price, it's recommended to get a Montecristo Petit Edmundo or a Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto instead.

Overall, this regional edition is considered uninteresting and overpriced. Thanks to Frédéric from La Casa del Habano Knokke for sending the cigars for review. Check out the shop for a selection of Cubans.
