Product Introduction
The Montecristo Dantés Edicion Limitada 2016 Vintage is a Grand Corona made from Cuban tobaccos. It was part of the 2016 Edicion Limitada program but released in 2017. It has a unique size not used in regular Habanos production.
Appearance and Aroma
The cigar looks rough, likely due to travel and storage. The wrapper is smooth, Colorado colored, and oily. The triple cap is flawless. The aroma is mild with hay and wood hints.
Taste Profile
- First Third: First puffs are slightly bitter from coffee, with green herbs and a bit of salt. Later, some sweetness with a salty undertone, classic Cuban leather, and hay. The taste bites the tongue a little.
- Second Third: Flavors pick up with wood, soil, coffee, green herbs, dark spices, mild cocoa, licorice, walnuts, leather, and spices. The tongue bite disappears. Cinnamon, leather, wood, pepper, and a slight hazelnut flavor appear.
- Last Third: Really enjoyable. The cigar gains in strength, flavor, character, and depth.
Smoking Experience
The draw is fine, the burn is good, and the ash is salt and pepper colored. The light blue smoke has decent volume and thickness. The strength and body start medium and grow to full. The smoke time is two and a half hours.
It was purchased as a single a few years ago, so the exact box code with the manufacturing date is unknown. The price is €20, and it was smoked indoors with a ventilator using a Xikar Xi2 cutter and a single - flame lighter.
