- Brand: Montecristo Master Open Series
- Length: 124 mm / 4.9 inches
- Ring: 50
- Score: 3/5
Appearance
The Montecristo Master Open Series has a good look. Apart from a few water spots on the wrapper, it's a gorgeous cigar. It exhales a very strong tobacco smell, one of the most intense on a Cuban cigar.
Construction
The ash held well, but the burn line was quite bad. The draw was flawless. The cigar is young, and it's aimed at young smokers who may not store cigars properly.
Flavor
- One third: Despite a spicy pre - draw, there's no spice kick at the start. Solid woody flavors dominate, with herbaceous flavors as secondary notes.
- Two thirds and three thirds: Woody flavors continue, with coffee and bitter spice as secondary notes. The smoke is medium - bodied and round throughout.
Value
It's considerably more expensive than the Petit Edmundo, providing a low price/quality ratio.
Originating from Cuba, it's a hand - made Robusto. Each cigar costs over $10. While it could be a decent smoke for beginners, experienced Cuban cigar smokers may not find it a good addition to their humidor.
