  • Length: 156 mm (6⅛″)
  • Ring: 52
  • Score: Overall high rating with appearance, construction, and flavor at 5/5, value at 4/5

Origin and Series

This Montecristo belongs to the Seleccion Piramides Series, a limited - edition of 5 Cuban piramides released in 2003. It is hand - made and originates from Cuba.

Appearance

The cigar has beautiful lines and a smooth, silky wrapper.

Construction

While Montes No. 2 are known for unstable construction, the Seleccion Piramide was perfectly constructed. Other sticks from the sampler also had excellent construction.

Flavor

  • It tastes like the best Montecristo No. 2 ever, with flavors of cream, coffee, chocolate throughout.
  • There are some spice notes with a hint of sweetness and delicious walnut flavors.
  • It pairs well with a large cup of slightly sweet coffee with milk.

Value

It costs about $25 each and is not an everyday cigar, best saved for special occasions.

Final Thoughts

Although not as majestic as the Cohiba, it leaves a very good impression. Ideal for those who like medium/full - bodied creamy cigars.
