, By: John Smith
  • Brand: Partagas Presidentes
  • Length: 158mm
  • Ring: 47
  • Score: Draw: 4/6; Burn: 4/6; Flavour: 5.5/6; Aroma: 4.5/6; Strength: 6/6

Appearance

The Partagas Presidentes has a double figurado shape (double pointed). It has a mild brown, silky wrapper that is not very oily and has modest veins. It proudly shows the traditional red Partagas band.

Construction

This shape offers complexity and variation. When lit, it first burns the wrapper and binder, which are spicy. When fully burning, it delivers a rich and intense flavor. It's easy to cut and has good combustion. The ash stays compact on the stick for almost half - way.

Tasting

  • One third: Starts with a spicy flavor from burning the wrapper and binder. As the head burns, it changes from a tight draw with a spicy sensation to a looser draw with denser smoke and a rich flavor.
  • Two thirds: Keeps a similar strength and flavor as the first third, just a bit stronger.
  • Three thirds: Reaches its peak with intense notes of dark chocolate, hay, pepper, and cedar wood.

It's recommended to enjoy this cigar after a meal, paired with a digestive or a glass of red wine. It costs USD 15 and is hand - made from Cuba with a taco format.
