  • Score: 4/5

Product Introduction

This is a hand-made Cuban cigar released in 2008, in torpedo format. It's a regional edition for the UK market. The price is $20+ each.

Appearance

The wrapper is brown with obvious oil, many darker spots and a couple of greenish areas. The pre-draw brings a lot of spice and is rather dusty. Rating: 3/5.

Construction

No soft spots were found during inspection. It lit well and burned properly until the end. The ash held for almost 3 inches. Rating: 4.5/5.

Flavor

  • One third: After an initial spice kick, it's very spicy with omnipresent black pepper, medium to full in strength.
  • Two thirds: Flavors become almost sugary, close to sugarcane, with notes of dried fruits.
  • Three thirds: Less sweetness but still present, and woody undertones appear. The finish is calm with increasing power.

Rating: 4/5.

Value

The price of UK - limited cigars is excessive. Rating: 3/5.

The author thanks Sautter Cigars for the sampler. Punch has had 11 different regional releases. The review is based on one specimen, and the author was surprised by its flavor. If priced around $10, it and La Gloria Cubana Gloriosos would get 4.5 stars.
