Product Introduction
This cigar is from Cuba, released in 2015. It's a hand - made Gorditos/Robusto Extra, priced at $900 for a box of 25. The box code is MUR FEB 13 (box number 1576/2000).
Appearance
It has a cinnamon color with few spines. The head's tip is a hybrid between a classic blunt and a torpedo. It's almost as smooth as glass, free of bloom and visible defects, and any oiliness is unnoticeable.
Construction
Great care was taken in manufacturing. It had a perfect burn from foot to head. Lighting was easy with an effortless draw. Although two sticks in the box had uneven burns, generally, it's well - constructed.
Flavor
Opening the box, a rich and earthy odor could be smelled from half a meter away. Flavors include nutty, butterscotch, caramel, various chocolates, with earthy, wood - like and spicy undertones throughout. A hint of aged Kentucky Bourbon flavor was also detected. No flavor overpowers the others, and it doesn't turn bitter past the ring.
Value
At $36 each, it's a bit pricey for average collectors. But compared to Partagas Lusitanias 2007 Gran Reserva, you get 18% more tobacco by weight at 60% of the cost. It's worth getting a few to age in the humidor.
