Quai d'Orsay was created in the 70s at the request of President Valery Giscard d'Estaing. La Seita, the French tobacco monopoly, was commissioned to make it. It was the third non - Cuban named brand on the market after Davidoff and Dunhill. This year, Habanos S.A. relaunched it with a new blend and packaging.

Appearance

The Quai d'Orsay No. 50 has a Colorado wrapper. It also has a new band with the cigar name. The wrapper is shiny and the new look gives a luxury feeling.

Construction

The cigar is perfectly rolled, filled with tobacco, and has a smooth pre - draw with a slight resistance.

Flavor

  • One third: There were residues of ammoniac and slight bitterness. It had very light strength, a pleasant draw, and a hint of creaminess.
  • Two thirds: It was a light - strength cigar with high - density smoke, low acidity, and slight creaminess. Bitterness melted, and there was a slight sweetness at the back of the palate. But the finish was short.
  • Three thirds: It maintained the same strength, flavors, and aromas. The richness and thickness of the smoke were enjoyable.
