Product Introduction

The Quai D'Orsay Secreto Cubano is an exclusive French regional edition for France's national Cuban cigar marque. It has a Secretos vitola, measuring 110mm by a 40 ring gauge. The wrapper has a good color, and the soft - firm balance to the touch is perfect.

Taste Progression

  • One third: Initial draw reveals a rich full taste, like burning hay toasting in the farmyard, with a bit of sweetness. There are also touches of pepper, cedar or mahogany, and the sweetness comes and goes.
  • Two thirds: There is less hay and more woodiness, along with some very sweet spots of near - chocolate. A sophisticated dried - fruit bitterness often sets in.
  • Three thirds: The apertif - type high - quality fruit - seed bitterness continues, matched with some nuttiness, and there are episodic returns of toasting hay and woodiness.

Other Features

The draw is excellent with no problems, while the burn is slow but not always even. The ash is sometimes a bit crumbly. Compared to some other Cuban 'light' cigars, it has some extra headiness and is a shade stronger than Hoyos, but never more than'medium' at the end. With a limited production of 10,000 boxes of 10 cigars, it offers great value for money.
