Product Introduction

The Ramón Allones Gran Robusto Exclusivo Benelux is a Robusto Extra Vitola. It was first released in 2007 with 25,200 cigars for the Benelux market. Due to its success, it was re - released in 2008 with 65,000 cigars.

Appearance

With a 50 ring gauge, it follows market trends. Its 155mm length gives it a refined look. The wrapper is light - brown, almost matte due to essential oil residue from aging, but still has a light oily sheen. The cap is well - executed.

Construction

There was significant variation in construction. Some had poor construction with a protrusive vein near the middle. Draw also varied from stuck to perfect. The burn was good, and the ash is a mix of light and dark grey layers that holds well.

Flavor

  • One third: Pre - light, it has Cuban manure, white pepper, vanilla undertone, and light caramel. After toasting, first puffs are hay and grass, then turn bitter with sweet touch. Later, there's pepper and sea salt. At the end of the first third, more pepper and hints of walnuts.
  • Two thirds: Nutty notes continue, joined by leather and wood, with fruity and floral notes. It goes from light to light - medium body.
  • Three thirds: Bitterness increases, becomes medium - bodied. Bitterness is accompanied by an almost unidentifiable sweetness like dark chocolate and caramel.

Value

At 13.50 EUR each, it offers good value. It took over an hour to smoke and was very enjoyable.

Overall, it's a special and complex cigar. There are construction risks, but a good sample is really lovely.
