Origin and Background
The Sancho Panza cigar brand originated in Cuba in 1848, taking its name from the novel "Don Quixote" by Miguel Cervantes. It produces medium-strength cigars with high ageing potential.
Tasting Notes
- One third: Light in strength but tasty, with quick-start woody and sweet notes. The strength gradually increases without harshness or bitterness, remaining smooth and elegant.
- Two thirds: Shows an amazing burn and draw. Toasty and roasted coffee notes appear, along with great woodiness. There's a velvety texture similar to aged cigars. The smoke has great density, though it can be slightly dry on the palate.
- Three thirds: Coconut notes lead, and a high heat takes over. It has a combination of strength and a salty finish, with round, lingering flavours. The last part is very oaky with sweet vanilla woody notes.
The cigar is hand-made and priced at USD 20-. The brand's cigars from the late 90s are still on the market and offer pure pleasure. The double figurados shape requires patience, and the pointy part may have less flavour initially. Overall, it's a great fresh cigar with a funny burn at the end but strong flavours.
