Product Background

In 1995, Arturo Fuente released the Arturo Fuente Opus X, a prestigious project. They grew Habano seed tobaccos in the Dominican Republic to create a unique wrapper. In 2015, Carlito Fuente released the 20th Anniversary tribute in four vitolas, including the reviewed 6¼x49 Father & Son.

Appearance and Aroma

The cigar has a Colorado Claro wrapper, initially hidden by cedar. It's smooth but looks a bit dry. The aroma is mild, with sawdust and wood scents. The ring is a classic blue Opus X ring with a secondary ring indicating 20 years.

Taste Profile

  • One third: After lighting, there's a balanced mix of spice, coffee, and sweetness, then turning to wood, spices, and leather, with faint vanilla and grass. A fresh lemon flavor emerges, and the sweetness is molasses-like.
  • Two thirds: The main flavors become wood and sweetness, and the coffee returns with gingerbread spices and vanilla.
  • Three thirds: The strength picks up, and the mouthfeel gets meatier with wood and vanilla as main flavors.

Other Details

The cold draw is perfect, with mild spice and sweetness. The draw and smoke are good, the ash is firm, and the burn is sharp. It's medium-bodied and medium-full flavored, smoked for three hours and fifteen minutes in indoor, ventilated conditions.
