Origin and Basics

The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature cigar hails from the Dominican Republic. It's in a perfecto format, hand - made, with a Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, Dominican filler, and a Dominican Republic binder. It costs $9 each.

Appearance

The Signature Maduro has an oily, dark, toothy wrapper. The foot tapers down to a slightly odd - looking nipple.

Taste Profile

  • One third: It starts with flavors of cedar, a slight sweetness typical of a maduro - wrapped cigar, and flashes of black tea.
  • Two thirds: As the smoke develops, it gets creamy and mellow.
  • Three thirds: It starts to exhibit black pepper and a unique earthiness.

Construction

The construction is superb. The burn is razor - sharp, and the ash is grey and rough - looking but holds firm. It produces thick clouds of white smoke with a rich aroma.

The Cigar Family makes a limited, aged release of Hemingways with a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, usually around holidays. The Cameroon - wrapped version has a classic Cameroon flavor with sweet spice, while the Signature Maduro offers a different and unique experience.
