This anniversary edition corona from Don Diego celebrates 40 years with a medium-full bodied punch. Crafted at Tabacalera de García - the world's largest premium cigar factory - this 5.5"x44 parejo features a triple-aged Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper hugging Dominican, Peruvian and Nicaraguan fillers. At about $7 per stick in boxes of 25, it's positioned as a post-dinner smoke for seasoned palates.
The initial draws reveal toasted cedar and black pepper spice, with a distinct molasses sweetness clinging to the lips. Smoke production stays moderate - no thick plumes here.
As the burn line crosses the band, bitter cocoa and leather notes emerge. The Connecticut Broadleaf binder pushes through with earthy undertones, while the Peruvian leaf adds a subtle raisin-like fruitiness.
Nicaraguan filler takes dominance in the last act with roasted coffee bean intensity. Some smokers report slight tar buildup near the nub, though the Sumatra wrapper maintains combustion consistency to the end.
The box-pressed parejo shape shows slight veins in its oily wrapper leaf. Triple fermentation creates consistent ash formation - holds past 1.5" before dropping. Requires no touch-ups when stored at 65% RH.
