Furthermore, Leon Jimenes Prestige Assortment cigars are made by La Aurora factory, the oldest cigar company in the Dominican Republic. They produce some of the finest smokes on the planet. Although the cigar factory surfaced in 1903, they introduced Prestige in 2011. The Leon Jimenes brand bears the family name of La Aurora founder, Eduardo Leon Jimenes. La Aurora wanted to create a cigar to honor him and his brother Herminio Leon Jimenes, the man that kept alive Leon’s family legacy and tradition when Eduardo passed away in 1937. Released in 1953, the Leon Jimenes blend uses a Connecticut wrapper for both the core and newer Prestige lines. Now, the company is led by his grandson, Guillermo Leon Herbert.
