Product Introduction

The Cohiba Siglo I is the smallest in the Cohiba line. It belongs to the Cohiba Siglo collection, created for the 500th anniversary of Columbus's discovery of Cuba. It has a Perla vitola, measuring 102mm with a 40 ring gauge.

Origin and Details

Originating from Cuba, it has a wrapper, filler, and binder all from Cuba. It's hand - made, priced at $11 each. The Cohiba brand has trademark disputes. General Cigar's "Red Dot" Cohiba in the US and the Dominican Cohiba are different from the Cuban Cohiba.

Siglo Line

The Siglo Series was introduced in 1992, possibly to fill the gap left by the discontinued Davidoff. It's reportedly milder than standard Cohibas, but the Siglo I is not a mild cigar. It comes in various packagings: cardboard packs of 5 or 10, 3 - packs of tubos, and varnished Slide Lid Boxes of 25.

Taste

Appearance - it's a très petit corona, darker wrapper than standard Cohibas, with a triple cap. When lit, it showed harshness and grassiness, indicating it needed aging. Underlying, there were creaminess, roasted nuts notes, and a hint of sweet tea, but vegetal and grassy flavors dominated.
