, By: John Smith
  • Brand: Cohiba (from Selección Piramides Gift Box with 5 different Habanos brands)
  • Length: 6 1/8” (156 mm)
  • Ring: 52
  • Score: Overall highly rated, with Appearance 4.5/5, Construction 5/5, Flavor 5/5, Value 5/5

Origin and Basics

The cigars are from Cuba, hand - made, in Piramide format. Each cigar weighs 14.26 g and costs around $25. It belongs to the limited - edition Seleccion Piramides Series released in 2003.

Appearance

Except for a tiny glitch at the foot, the wrapper is dark (slightly brighter than Maduro 5), smooth and oily. Unlit, it has a strong smell of tobacco and humus.

Construction

The cigar is well - constructed. Once lit, there's no need to monitor the burn, and the draw is perfect throughout the smoke.

Flavor

  • One third: Soft notes of precious wood mixed with pleasant spiciness, and possibly a hint of cocoa.
  • Two thirds: Dark chocolate is present, with flavors complementing each other.
  • Three thirds: Earthy and leathery notes replace the spice and chocolate flavors.

Value

It has a better price/quality ratio than some other high - priced Cohibas like Cohiba Esplendidos or Siglo VI.
