General Information

The Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva is a Cuban cigar from the El Laguito factory. It's hand - made, with a Canonazo format, and comes in a box of 15. Only 5,000 boxes were made, using tobacco from the 2003 crop. Each cigar costs over $100.

Appearance and Draw

The wrapper is light brown, thin, with few visible veins and a bit more red in color. It's less tightly packed than most Cohibas. The pre - light draw is very easy, different from most Sig VI's.

Taste Profile

  • One third: The first puffs are mild, with slightly woody flavors, leather, and white pepper that tickles the sinuses. An inch in, the pepper note increases, paired with earthy mustiness.
  • Two thirds: The cigar gets richer and stronger, with notes of espresso, anise, tea, leather, wood, a hint of cocoa powder, and a surprising amount of mint.
  • Three thirds: Halfway through, the retrohale is musty and rich. The cocoa notes intensify, accentuating the licoricy finish.

Burn and Aroma

The burn is even, and the smoke has a floral and intense aroma. The reviewer believes this is the best cigar they've ever smoked, though it smokes a bit fast.
