Product Introduction

The H. Upmann Noellas were discontinued in the 1980s and re - released as a LCDH Exclusivo in 2009. They were sold in glass jars of 25. In Canada, they are about $20 CAD each.

Appearance

The cigars have milk - chocolate wrappers with a slight sheen, well - rolled, and most have well - applied caps. Thin veins run through the wrappers. The wrapper and foot smell like dense honey cake, and the cold draw has a creamy note.

Construction

The draw starts a bit tight but opens up. One cap was a bit off, but they held up to a double guillotine cut. The burn is good, and overall, they are well - constructed.

Flavor

  • One third: A mild - strength, medium - bodied cigar. Flavors include cream, a faint sweet note, and a slight pepper finish. The draw opens up and produces more smoke near the end of this third.
  • Two thirds: Cream remains, accompanied by baking spices, cedar. Sometimes it tastes like gingerbread on retrohale. A peppery finish builds, and a rosemary - like herbal note was detected in one smoke.
  • Three thirds: Medium strength. Creamy sweetness fades, and cedar and pepper compete. It gets a bit strong for retrohale.

Value

They are not good value in Canada at $20 each. In Cuba, 120 CUC for a jar of 25 is more reasonable.
