Introduction

The Montecristo Linea 1935 is slowly appearing on different markets. It features full - body cigars and a unique Vitola. The Maltes is a sobresalientes size. The Linea 1935 has a double band on the foot of the cigar. It's only the second time a foot band is seen in Cuba after the Cohiba Grandiosos.

Appearance

The Montecristo Maltes is a heavy ring - gauge cigar with an oily and silky maguro Clara wrapper. The golden notes of the wrapper match well with the new bands.

Tasting

  • One third: The pre - draw is a bit tight. The first notes are fresh and menthol - like. The smoke density is low at first. It has a woody flavor, is well - balanced, with a medium velvet structure on the palate and a roasted coffee finish.
  • Two thirds: It gets stronger with a longer finish. Peppery notes add complexity. The smoke density becomes high as the draw improves. There's a warm feeling on the palate with richer flavors.
  • Three thirds: It starts very woody. Earthiness and grassiness increase. A touch of cardamon appears. It finishes with black tea notes.

The Montecristo Linea 1935 Maltes is hand - made and priced between $20 - $25. The brand strength is full.
