Origin and Format

The Partagas Serie P No. 2 is from Cuba, with a Piramide format, hand - made in 2009.

Appearance

It has a rating of 4.25/5. The cigar features a dark wrapper with an elegant rustic look, some reddish spots, an oily sheen, no visible seams or distracting veins. Pre - light aroma includes sweet tobacco, cedar and cocoa, and the foot offers tobacco and cedar aromas.

Construction

With a rating of 4.25/5, the construction is good. The draw is okay but may need occasional touch - ups. The burn can be a bit erratic at times. The ash is firm, and the cigar is well - balanced. It's not as firmly packed as some robustos.

Flavor

It scores 4.5/5. It has a “Partagas” flavor but is less strong in body and nicotine than Series D No. 4.

  • One third: Thick, cool smoke with Cuban tobacco flavors, caramel nectar texture, and finish with faint pepper, cocoa and leather notes.
  • Two thirds: Notes of dried fruit with a hint of citrus on the front palate, light cedar and pepper on the back, with leather and coffee creeping in.
  • Three thirds: Hints of sweet coffee, citrus, cedar and leather. It gets a bit more peppery, and flavors may turn slightly bitter after removing the band.

Value

It has a 5/5 rating in Cuba at $6.60 each. Outside Cuba, prices are higher due to taxes, but it still offers good value compared to some other cigars.

This cigar pairs well with scotch or beer, and it's recommended to smoke it on a full stomach due to nicotine content.
