Product Introduction
The Partagas Serie No. 1 (Edición Limitada 2017) is a hand - made cigar from Cuba, with a format of Noblezas and a size of 138mm X 52. Since 2000, Habana S.A has released an 'Edicion Limitada' cigar annually. Until 2007, all leaves in these cigars went through an extra 2 - year aging, making the blend rounder and smoother. These cigars have an extra black and gold band indicating the release year.
Appearance
The cigar has a dark, oily and silky wrapper. It looks well - rolled. The main brand band shows 'Series No.1' following Partagas' alphabetical series.
Tasting
- One third: When lit, the smoke density is high and it draws well. The initial flavor is not typically Cuban, with a slight Partagas spiciness but an earthiness like Padron cigars. Later, the burn becomes strange, flavors drop on the palate, and a slight bitterness develops.
- Two thirds: The blend shows a Cuban profile. There is an earthy and woody intensity, with herbal and vegetal notes lingering on the palate. However, the construction is poor as the burn is not good.
- Three thirds: It is very rich but harsh at the end due to a lot of ammonia, which hides the previous woodiness and earthiness. The draw remains good but the burn is still an issue.
