Product Introduction

The Arturo Fuente Añejo No. 77 Shark is from the Dominican Republic. It has a torpedo format with a wrapper of Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro, a binder from the Dominican Republic, and filler also from the Dominican Republic. It's hand - made and costs up to $30 each.

Appearance and Construction

It has a unique obelisk shape due to box - pressing the original torpedo. It has a solid heft. The wrapper has a faint texture of tooth and minor veins, and since it was aged since 2006, the oils on the wrapper surface are transferable. The wrapper and foot emit a faint scent of sweet cocoa.

Taste Experience

  • Prelight: A Palio guillotine makes a beautiful angled cut. The prelight draw is perfect, with a faint sweetness, a tingle of pepper, and a buttery nuttiness.
  • Initial Puffs: The creamy smoke builds. Nut and sweet flavors develop into almond and perhaps vanilla. Exhaling through the nose produces a slight tartness.
  • Mid - session: The burn is wavy but controllable. A more prominent Cedar flavor develops. The strength builds and turns spiced, though almond remains.
  • Last Inch and a Half: The spice builds but doesn't become overbearing.

One drawback is its rarity, being released in limited quantities around Father’s Day and Christmas.
