Punch Churchills Cigar Review

, By: John Smith
  • Brand: Punch Churchills
  • Length: 178 mm / 7.0 inches
  • Ring Gauge: 47
  • Overall Score: 4.25/5

Origin and History

Punch is one of the oldest brands in Habanos S.A., founded in 1840 in Havana by Don Manuel Lopez. The Punch Churchill was discontinued in 2010. The box reviewed is from 2005.

Appearance

The wrapper is medium brown with an oily sheen. It has a few fine veins and is evenly packed, looking nearly flawless.

Construction

There are minor construction issues. The draw is slightly tight at times but opens up while smoking. The burn is sometimes a bit off but needs few adjustments and otherwise burns straight.

Flavor

  • Strength: Medium
  • Smoke: Rich and aromatic
  • Flavors: Mostly smooth and mild, with notes of wood, floral, tea, and later a hint of vanilla.

Value

Considering it's discontinued, the price is reasonable. As time passes, it will become rarer, and the price may rise.

Overall, the Punch Churchill is a great choice for those who enjoy mild, smooth flavors in a classic Cuban cigar. It's recommended to get a box while available.
