General Information
This is a regional edition exclusive to Canada, introduced in 2007. It's a hand - made Corona Extra from Cuba, sized 127 x 19 mm (5 x 48), and priced at around $20.
Appearance
The cigar has a medium - brown wrapper with very fine veins. It features the classic Bolivar band and a well - contrasting exclusivo band, presenting a classic look, rated 5/5.
Construction
The draw and burn were impeccable. It had a good feel in the hand, neither too heavy nor light, and was slightly soft to the touch, also rated 5/5.
Flavor
- Pre - light, it had little aroma. After clipping, it gave off a rich tobacco smell. It started with leathery tastes, then turned to sweet, peppery spice, and later to cedar and sometimes a near - chocolate flavor.
- About a third in, the peppery spice increased, leaving a good aftertaste and sometimes accompanied by sugary sweetness.
- Halfway in, the smoke showed roasted nuts and ended with the rich, earthy tobacco flavor unique to Bolivar. Rated 4.5/5, it was deducted half a point as it's young and had some tannic tastes.
Value
At $20 a stick, it's overpriced. Similar flavors can be found in cheaper Bolivar models like Belicoso Finos or Royal Corona. Rated 3/5.
