Cohiba Siglo I Cigar Review

, By: John Smith
  • Brand: Cohiba
  • Length: 102mm
  • Ring: 42
  • Score: 4/5

Introduction

The Cohiba Siglo I is the smallest Cohiba cigar. It belongs to the Cohiba Siglo collection created for the 500th anniversary of Columbus's discovery of Cuba. It has a Perla vitola.

Appearance

It has a triple cap and a wrapper with very thin veins, rated 4.5/5.

Construction

Like most smaller and thinner vitolas, it has a few imperfections. Some cigars in a box may have a tight draw, but the burn is rather straight, rated 4/5.

Flavor

  • First third: Nutmeg and spice, indicating a powerful and complex smoke.
  • Second third: Woody and floral notes, very smooth and creamy.
  • Last third: If aged at least 1 year, there are strong flavors of cinnamon and black pepper; otherwise, it might be harsh, rated 4/5.

Value

It's not a great deal, likely due to Cohiba's reputation. You can get similar cigars at lower prices, rated 2.5/5.

Origin: Cuba. Format: Petit Corona. Size: 102 x 15.87 mm (4 x 42). Weight: 5.91 g. Hand - Made. Price: ~$10/piece. Despite the price, it's still an interesting option in the très petit coronas league.
