, By: John Smith
  • Brand: Punch
  • Length: 6.1 inches (155mm)
  • Ring Gauge: 42
  • Score: 4/5

Appearance

It has a colorado, almost maduro wrapper with a few veins. The long corona vitola is a good size, feels good in hand, and the Punch band is special. It's a classic brand rolled since 1840. Rating: 3/5.

Construction

This is a well - built cigar. The foot is full and round with visible air canals. The cap sits perfectly. Pinching it shows no knots. A clean cut and perfect draw were obtained. Rating: 4/5.

Flavor

  • One third: It starts with a medium - to - full body, with light spices, a bit of wood, sweetness, great chocolate flavors, and a buttery taste. It then settles to a medium body.
  • Two thirds: It gives a velvety sweet tobacco taste with cocoa notes, remains at medium body, has some acidity, and moves to the toasted side. The dustiness disappears.
  • Three thirds: It shows some bitterness, likely due to burning issues. After a relight, there are toasty tobacco and a 'twang', with a creamy butter feeling and great toasted flavors.

Value

It's a worthy cigar, comes in 50 - count cabs ideal for aging. Rating: 4/5.
