Appearance
The Brick house Robusto has a rugged appearance with a weather - worn wrapper, tiny tight veins running randomly, and a slightly shimmery surface. It has a nice cap with distinct lines for easy cutting. The overall construction is fairly tight with no soft spots.
Smell
It gives off deep oak and light floral scents when sniffed. After toasting, it emits a light cedar bark aroma.
Taste
- Initial Draw: A bit firm at first, then gradually opened up. The smoke was a little dry initially but then took on moisture and oils. The flavors included a shake of pepper, a hint of oak/cedar woodiness, and a minty/aged aftertaste.
- Throughout Smoking: The flavor cycle remained consistent with a balanced and near - razor - sharp burn. There was no bite in the smoke, and the flavors were neither lessened nor overpowered.
- Near the Nub: The tobacco didn't heat up and scorch the tongue.
Conclusion
This cigar is suitable for nearly all occasions, whether paired with single malt in a lounge or a beer on a truck tailgate. It's priced around $5, making it a great option during a recession.
