Product Introduction

This cigar was a gift from a Cuban cigar collector and trader. Made in 2003, it comes from a Greek collector with a well - designed cigar aging system. Montecristo was founded in 1935 after Alonso Menendez bought the Particulares Factory and renamed it. The Corona Grande in tubos was released in the 1970s and is still in production.

Taste Profile

  • One third: The cold draw has a mild leathery and strong hay flavor. When lit, it tastes of soil, coffee with a hint of marzipan sweetness. After a few puffs, leather shows up, and then it turns to leather with chocolate. Later, it becomes leather with toast and some salt.
  • Two thirds: There's a strong hazelnut flavor, along with toast, leather, pepper, green herbs, and chocolate.
  • Three thirds: It has pepper, wood, leather, toast, and nuts. The flavors are stronger than at the beginning.

Other Characteristics

The draw is a bit tight but acceptable. The ash is light gray, dense but not firm. The smoke is thick and white. The burn is very straight. It's a medium - bodied, medium - flavored cigar that starts mild and grows to medium - full flavored.
