Introduction
The Trinidad Robusto T was introduced in 2009, offering a robusto vitola in the Trinidad line. It received positive reviews initially.
Appearance
The light brown wrapper has elegant thin veins. The triple cap with an accurate pig - tail is easily removed, and it has a peppery pre - draw. It exhales a delicate aroma with a touch of sweetness. Rating: 5/5
Construction
Well - packed, with a perfect weight in hand. After a large 54 ring - gauge RyJ Duke, it feels good in the mouth. It has a comfortable draw with a little resistance, producing excellent amounts of smoke. The burn was sharp in the first third and needed a couple of corrections later. The ash held for over 2 inches. Rating: 4.5/5
Flavor
- First third: Flavors of black pepper and cedar, with nutmeg as a secondary flavor. Retro - haling reveals some sweetness. The smoke has a toasted aroma and is smooth. Rating: 5/5
- Second third: Bitter chocolate is added to the flavor bouquet. It remains smooth.
- Last third: It briefly loses creaminess and shows harshness but then becomes more delicious, thick, full - bodied, and velvety, with animal notes in the bouquet.
Value
It's probably the most expensive robusto at the moment but is also one of the best. Rating: 4/5
Origin: Cuban. Format: Robusto. Hand - Made. Price: ~$13 - 15 each. It's a great choice for a box purchase.
