Origin and Production

The Camacho Select Torpedo originates from Honduras. It has a Cameroon wrapper, Honduras filler and binder, and is hand - made. It's blended by Julio Eiroa and produced at Tabacos Rancho Jamastran in Honduras. It costs about $7 each.

Appearance

The appearance has a rating of 4/5. It is quite toothy and less oily than expected for a cigar over $5.

Construction

With a 4.5/5 rating, the construction is superb. It burns regularly (perhaps a bit fast), has firm ash, and a fine draw.

Flavor

Based on an 'aging report' after at least a year in the humidor:

  • One third: The lighting is easy with little initial spice. It starts with light spice and hazelnut, and is less than medium - bodied.
  • Two thirds: The spice gets stronger and there are cedary notes.
  • Three thirds: There is no harshness or bitterness.

Value

With a 4/5 rating, paying around $170 for a box is considered a nice investment.
