Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria Cigar Review

, By: John Smith
  • Brand: Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria
  • Length: 7.0 inches
  • Ring Gauge: 49

Origin and Background

The Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria is from Honduras. It's made in the Raices Cubanas factory, the same as Illusione and Cruzado cigars. There's a rumor that an unchosen blend by Dion Giolito was bought by Alec Bradley to become the Tempus.

Appearance

The cigar has a large ornate band and a second gold band at the foot, looking regal from afar. Up close, it's rustic. The wrapper is dark brown, rumpled, with small black spots, very veiny, and has a slight tooth. The triple cap is sloppily applied.

Smoking Experience

  • One third: Starts with a peppery blast, rich earth and black coffee notes, and a subtle sweetness on the finish. It's full - bodied with a heady punch.
  • Two thirds: Mellowed out, mostly smooth with creamy nut and oak flavors, interrupted by salty leather.
  • Three thirds: Returns to a robust earthy smoke with plenty of pepper on the finish.

Technical Performance

The draw was near - perfect, and the burn remained straight and even throughout the nearly two - hour smoke without relights or touch - ups.

Final Thoughts

The Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria is a complex smoke that can hold one's attention. It's easily the reviewer's favorite Alec Bradley cigar, and they'll definitely smoke it again.
