- Brand: Camacho
- Length: 152.4 mm (6 inches)
- Ring Gauge: 48
- Score: 3.5/5
Appearance
The wrapper is raisin-colored, toothy, somewhat blotchy in the middle, with several large veins. It has a nice silver band with the Camacho C and Triple Maduro, and an attractive silver label on the foot. The 11/18 format has an interesting shape.
Construction
The cigar is well-made with no soft spots. The prelight draw and draw throughout were firm. The burn was sharp but wavy, needing touch-ups. It burned for two hours, and the ash was light gray and held about an inch.
Flavor
- One third: Prelight smell was sweet, like raisins with earthiness. Initial flavor had sweetness, dark roast coffee, wood, leather, and spiciness. Retro was white pepper spicy.
- Two thirds: More spiciness, sweetness remained, and smoke was a bit dry. Light sweetness with a savory woody body.
- Three thirds: Sweetness became an undertone like bitter chocolate, replaced by wood. Body went from medium to full, with a nicotine kick.
Value
The average price in the area is $15. For this price, the reviewer doesn't find it a great value.
The Camacho Triple Maduro is an enjoyable cigar, especially when fresh. It has character and complexity. However, due to its high price, the reviewer wouldn't smoke it regularly unless the price dropped to $8 - 9.
