Product Introduction

The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Between the Lines is the mid - size version of Hemingway's Perfecto - only cigar line. It has a filler from the Dominican Republic, a barber - pole wrapper combining Broadleaf Maduro and Connecticut Shade, a Dominican binder, and is hand - made. It costs $17 each.

Availability

The Hemingway line is very popular and limited. The Maduros are especially limited, released twice a year, one around the holidays. The double - wrapped, barber pole “Between the Lines” is one of the rarest.

Appearance

The contrast between the light tan, shade - grown wrapper and the dark, broadleaf maduro wrapper, intertwined like barber - pole stripes, makes it visually appealing. The perfecto shape enhances its beauty.

Burn and Draw

Except for the normal oddities at the beginning of a perfecto, the burn was even. The draw was excellent, producing thick clouds of white smoke.

Flavor

  • Positive Flavors: The slightly sweet maduro flavor, damp earthiness, and subtle spice from the Hemingway Maduros were present.
  • Negative Flavors: A dry grassiness and an acrid finish, likely from the Connecticut Shade wrapper, often overpowered the other flavors, detracting from the enjoyment.

Overall, it's a neat novelty, but flavor - wise, it doesn't meet the standard of the rest of the Hemingway line.
