Origin and Format
The cigar is from the Dominican Republic, with a Corona Gorda format. It has a 4 3/4 x 56 size, a vintage Dominican Republic wrapper from 100% Cuban Seed, a Dominican Republic binder and filler, and is hand - made. The price is around $18.
Appearance
Wrapped in cellophane, the wrapper is medium - to - dark brown, with an oily look, noticeable veins and visible seams. It has a large cap, gives slightly when squeezed and has no lumps. The nose has a sweet citrus/cedary aroma, and the foot has a woodsy/tobacco aroma. It has a wide and intricate band, and there were some minor tears and nicks in the wrapper.
Construction
The pre - light draw was a bit loose. The smoke output was great at first but diminished in the final third. One cigar needed one re - light near the band, and the other needed numerous re - lights after the band was removed. The ash was flaky but held firm.
Flavor
- One third: First puffs had a pleasing saltiness on the lips, light pepper at the back of the throat and a slight bitterness that went away. Halfway through, cocoa hints appeared, and the smoke became thicker, sweeter and more caramel - like.
- Two thirds: The flavor remained earthy, woodsy with minor cocoa hints, mild saltiness on the lips and long - lasting pepper in the finish. Bitterness crept back like burnt coffee.
- Three thirds: The cigar needed to be smoked quicker to stay lit, leading to harshness and bitterness. The flavor was mainly woodsy/grassy.

Similar flavor profiles can be found in other cigars at a lower price. The high price may be due to marketing and limited availability.
