Product Introduction

The Ashton VSG Spellbound is a hand-made cigar from the Dominican Republic. It has a wrapper from Ecuador and filler and binder from the Dominican Republic. The VSG Series is blended by Carlos Fuente Jr. with 4 and 5 year old Dominican tobacco, and the wrapper leaf is grown by the Oliva family in Ecuador and sold exclusively to the Fuente family for Ashton VSG cigars. The series comes in 12 different sizes.

Taste and Smoking Experience

  • One third: It showed aromas of wood, spice, and notes of roasted nuts. The burn was a little uneven, and the ash was wavy white.
  • Two thirds: Roasted nut notes were still there, heavily supported by woody cedar. The burn was uneven but trying to fix itself. It produced thin white smoke.
  • Three thirds: The burn fixed itself. The ending aromas were floral, refreshing from start to finish.

The pre-light ritual was excellent, with a dark wrapper and an appealing band. The cold draw had woody sweetness, and it lit easily, getting a perfect pre-light score. The cigar costs $13 each and takes over two hours to smoke. It's a consistent and solid smoke, worth the money and time.
