- Brand Name: Camacho Corojo Robusto
- Length: 5 inches (127 mm)
- Ring Gauge: 50
- Score: 4.5/5
Product Introduction
Entirely handmade from selected vintage tobaccos, this is the only Honduran puro made with Corojo wrapper, binder, and filler. In 2013, Camacho rebranded and updated some blends to match their “Bold Standard” tagline. The new blend is similar to the old one but has a bolder flavor and body.
Appearance
The cigar comes in a tubo patterned after the band. Both are bright red with bold lettering. The wrapper is medium brown with a slight reddish hue, a few fine veins, and a perfect cap.
Construction
It has firm ash and a razor - straight burn line. The draw is a bit looser at times, but the burn line is very sharp.
Flavor
- One third: Starts with spicy wood and sweet molasses, then the spiciness fades and flavors turn creamy.
- Two thirds: Dark fruit notes like raisin and cranberry, along with the citrus sharpness of orange peel, while wood, spice, and cream still dominate.
- Three thirds: There is a flavor like baked pastry or dessert bread, and the spice ramps up again.
Value
It costs around $7 per stick, offering good value for money.
The only drawback is the somewhat loose draw, but it's not a constant issue. Overall, it remains a very enjoyable smoke, especially for those who like full - bodied cigars.
