Product Introduction

The Casa Turrent 1880 Series Lancero Claro Cigar originates from Mexico. It's a hand - made lancero with a San Andres Habano Criollo wrapper from Mexico, filler from Mexico and the Dominican Republic, and a San Andres Negro binder from Mexico. The brand is run by second - generation family tobacco growers, who are currently the biggest producers in Mexico, and the 1880 is one of their newest core lines.

Appearance

The cigar has a brown wrapper with some tooth and veins and few oil signs. It comes with an interesting band, looking elegant. When squeezed, it's spongy. The wrapper smells of barnyard and earth.

Construction

It has good construction, needing only a small touch - up once. The ash doesn't last long, but it produces plenty of aromatic and dense smoke. The draw is excellent.

Flavour

  • One third: Cold draws bring strong bread and candied pecans flavours. First puffs have powerful sweet, candied pecans, dominant cinnamon, a little spiciness on retrohale, and pleasant cocoa nibs.
  • Two thirds: Around halfway, the flavour shifts to creamy cedar with a dark chocolate aftertaste and a slight flower note. Retrohale brings a lot of hay.
  • Three thirds: The last part returns to dominant cinnamon, with creamy cedar in the background. Dark chocolate appears occasionally, and there are new dough and earth flavours. The last few puffs have tons of espresso beans on retrohale.

Value

In the UK, it costs £16.49, which is a bargain for a lancero.
