Product Introduction

The Opus X line of cigars was introduced in 1995 and has received many accolades. These cigars are scarce due to limited supply and aggressive marketing. The Opus X Petit Lancero has a Dominican grown, reddish brown, Rosado wrapper that is a bit veiny and lumpy. The wrapper is grown on the Chateau de la Fuente Estate in the Dominican Republic and is cured in rum barrels. After rolling, the cigars are aged for a year before hitting the market.

Taste Profile

  • One third: Starts off a little peppery, then settles down quickly.
  • Two thirds: Smooth with lots of caramel, earth, and a leathery finish.
  • Three thirds: A complex medium to full bodied smoke with well - defined flavors.

Other Features

This is a short and slender lancero with a tapered head. Its small ring gauge allows no room for substandard tobacco. The construction is excellent, with a perfect draw and a straight burn. The ash is well - formed. However, it may not be as powerful as expected. Priced at $19 each, it's more for special occasions.
